The Economic Times daily newspaper is available online now. Read Today's Paper United Breweries shares rally 14% after Q2FY27 profit jumps 191% YoYBy Ritesh Presswala, ETMarkets.comLast Updated: Oct 28, 2026, 11:13:00 AM ISTSynopsis

United Breweries shares surged by 14.44% as the company announced a staggering 191% jump in net profit, now at Rs 135 crore for the September quarter of FY27. Additionally, net sales increased by 24% to reach Rs 2,537 crore, driven by strong premium beer sales. However, despite this impressive performance, the stock has seen a decline of about 30% over the previous year.

United Breweries shares rallied 14.44% to Rs 1,308.70 during Wednesday's trading session after the company reported a 191% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated net profit for the September quarter of FY27, alongside strong revenue growth.

The company's consolidated net profit rose to Rs 135 crore in Q2FY27 from Rs 46 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net sales increased 24% YoY to Rs 2,537 crore from Rs 2,051 crore in the year-ago period.

“Net Sales grew 24 per cent, driven by strong volume growth, structural price increases, premiumisation, favourable geographic mix and improvement in the company's operating mix,” United Breweries said in its earnings statement.

UBL's revenue from operations, gross of excise duty, rose 23.7% year-on-year to Rs 4,623 crore in the September quarter of FY27, compared with Rs 3,737.31 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company's EBITDA grew 108% during the quarter, while its EBITDA margin improved by 480 basis points, supported by better operating efficiency and cost control, according to the exchange filing.

    Live Events

United Breweries said the beer category continued to record double-digit growth, with stronger momentum during the September quarter.

The company's sell-in volumes increased 16%, while inventory levels remained below those recorded in the corresponding period last year, reflecting strong consumer demand and healthy market fundamentals, it said.

Premium beer volumes grew 38%, led by Heineken Silver, which recorded growth of 67%, and Kingfisher Ultra, which grew 44%. The company said the performance strengthened its premium portfolio and supported premiumisation.

United Breweries Share Price and Technical Indicators

Despite Wednesday's rally, United Breweries shares have declined around 30% over the past year. The company currently has a market capitalisation of approximately Rs 32,019 crore, while its 52-week high stands at Rs 1,844.

According to Trendlyne technical data, the stock is trading above five of its eight simple moving averages (SMAs). However, it remains below its 100-day, 150-day and 200-day SMAs, indicating that it continues to trade below these medium- to long-term trend indicators.

        United Breweries Shareholding Pattern

In the September 2026 quarter, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) increased their stake in United Breweries to 5.36% from 4.87% in the preceding quarter. Meanwhile, mutual funds reduced their holding to 16.33% from 17.01% during the same period.
