At least 15 PMS funds across small-cap, sectoral and multi-cap themes delivered stellar October returns, led by Sundaram Alternate Assets’ Rising Stars with 10.5%. Fintech, healthcare and thematic portfolios dominated gains, while only a few hybrid and large-cap strategies lagged.
At least 15 PMS funds across small-cap, sectoral and multi-cap strategies delivered strong October returns, with Sundaram Alternate Assets’ Rising Stars emerging as the month’s top performer, returning 10.50%, according to data from PMS Bazaar.Sundaram’s Rising Stars led a pack of high-beta small-cap and sectoral plays that outpaced the broader set of managed portfolios in October. Kotak Mahindra AMC’s Fintech strategy followed closely with a gain of 9.97%, Right Horizons’ Super Value Aggressive returned 9.47%, and InCred Asset Management’s Focused Healthcare Portfolio rose 9.10%. InCred’s Multicap Portfolio also posted a double-digit-style bounce, delivering a return of 9.09% for the month.
Winners: small-cap and sectoral bets outfront
A cohort of small-cap and thematic strategies dominated the top of the leaderboard. Other notable performers included Elever Investment Adviser’s Factoralpha Smallcap, which gained 8.70%, Right Horizons’ Super Value, which returned 8.63%, and Sundaram’s SELF Portfolio, which rose 8.36%.Several multi-cap and sector-tilted products also showed robust October returns. Agreya Capital’s Total Return Enhancer gained 7.85%, InCred’s Small & Midcap strategy rose 7.70%, ASK Investment Managers’ Financial Opportunities Portfolio added 7.70%, and Fident Asset Management’s FAIR strategy climbed 7.70% during the month. Motilal Oswal’s Mid-to-Mega strategy rounded out the stronger performers, up 7.36%.
The breadth of gains, concentrated among small-and-midcap, fintech and healthcare-themed plays, underlines the month’s risk-on tone for pockets of India’s active PMS market, where concentrated managers reaped outsized moves from a handful of strong stocks.

Bottom performers: a small set of portfolios lagged
On the downside, a smaller group of strategies posted notable declines. Maxiom Asset Management’s GEM strategy was the weakest performer, sliding 2.79% in October. Green Portfolio’s MNC Advantage fell 2.21%, and Brightseeds Advisors’ Xylem Maverick Strategy declined 2.06%.Several multi-cap and small-and-midcap products recorded modest losses or flat returns, including Money Grow Asset’s Small Midcap strategy, which fell 1.04%, Atlas Integrated Finance’s Debt-Equity Hybrid PMS Fund, which declined 0.99%, Alpha Alternatives’ Systematic Equity, which dropped 0.65%, and Square 64 Capital’s Multicap, which slipped 0.61%.
A handful of larger-cap and hybrid offerings were close to flat for the month, illustrating the divergence between concentrated high-beta plays and more diversified portfolios.
